Efficacy of Polyherbal Formulation (<i>Phalatrikadi Vati</i>) in the Management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus through Metabolic Correction – A Clinical Study

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a prevalent metabolic disorder worldwide; its incidents have grown notably in recent years. Over the last 50 years, lifestyle changes led to dramatic increase prevalence of type 2 diabetes around world. India has been projected as diabetic capital and complications pose major threat future public health resources throughout world are cause blindness, kidney failure, heart attacks, stroke, lower limb amputation. In southern part India, mortality rate due fifth rank amongst ten vital causes death. Despite advances knowledge, preventing controlling remain challenge. So present study focused on disease pathogenesis regulation through Polyherbal formulation (Phalatrikadi Vati). Objectives: To determine efficacy reducing subjective complaints Type Mellitus by corrections thereby blood glucose level body. Methods: A single arm open labeled trial with 1 month duration. Participants: 25 patients diagnosed, high fasting sugar postprandial levels. 500mg tablet was given twice day after food. Results: total 30 enrolled completed treatment. Significant relief 68% polyuria, 56% urine turbidity, 84% polyphagia, 76% polydipsia seen. There highly significant reduction FBS mean difference 31.84 mg PPBS 63.92 mg. Conclusion: The polyherbal safe intervention can be expected reduce symptoms Future studies larger sample sizes, longer duration follow up needed for more accurate reliable results.
